Break out your best gravel bike, grab some friends, and come join in the fun at the inaugural Bust Your Butte Gravel Challenge in beautiful Bend, Oregon. Whether you are racing for the win or just coming out for the challenge, it is a great excuse to get outdoors and play in the dirt.
You can choose either the 53 mile course or 81 mile course. Both courses are 95% dirt and gravel with scenic views and very limited traffic. We will have stocked aid stations on the course, along with food and beer at the finish. (Due to current snow levels we have adjusted the courses slightly. Our maps show the new adjusted courses.)
The top 3 finishers in each category will receive custom prizes, and the winners will receive a custom Winner's Jersey from Louis Garneau. Also, the top 3 open men and women long course finishers will receive cash! Need even more schwag?? We are also giving away an Orbea frameset and a Rolf Prima wheelset.
NEW! Come spend an evening with Chris Horner.
If you have already signed up for the race, or want to sign up, you are invited to eat a few snacks, drink some Deschutes Brewery beer, and listen to many of Chris's great stories from his pro career. The event will be held at Sagebrush Cycles, the night before the race (April 20th), starting at 6PM, and is limited to 50 people. Please RSVP through our Facebook Event page, or by emailing James at Sagebrush Cycles. Hope to see you there with a smile on your face and a beer in your hand!

There will be limited support on the course. The aid stations will have basic tool, tubes, etc... and we will also have a couple of motos on course to help with mechanicals and do a sweep. Be prepared to do your own repairs if you want to get going quickly after a mechanical or flat. If you can't do your own repairs we will get to you eventually, but it could be a while.
If you are riding the long course, there is a 3 hour cutoff time for you to get to the first aid station at mile 24. If you do not make it to the first aid station by 12:30 PM, you will not be allowed to continue on the long course and will be diverted to the short course to finish the ride.
This event is on gravel / dirt roads. You can show up on your road bike if you want, but we suggest a gravel or CX bike with 35mm tires or wider.
